Dunkirk Review

I am going to be completely honest, as an 18 yr old girl, I 100% went to see Dunkirk for Harry Styles. What can I say, I was a huge One Direction fan and Harry was always my favorite. This being said I really enjoyed this movie. It was different from what I usually watch, I don’t see many war movies. It was very intense and stressful, I was on the edge of my seat watching as the Germans bombed the British and French and anxiously waiting and hoping that Tommy (played by Fionn Whitehead), Collins (played by Jack Lowden) and Alex (played by Harry Styles) would survive.

The story is told through different perspectives, the air and the sea. We see British pilots trying to stop German bombers, a civilian man and his son sailing to rescue the soldiers, and the troops on the beach attempting to survive the many attacks.

I am not in any way qualified to review Dunkirk. I am not familiar with Christopher Nolan’s work or even the story of Dunkirk (thanks to the American education system). But nevertheless the movie captured my attention and had me holding my breath. Nolan did an incredible job, I may not be part of the intended demographic but I really enjoyed it and would watch it again.

I recommend this movie to everyone, if I can be captivated by Dunkirk than so can you.
